New 1/4 mile times...

I upped my best from 15.3 to a 15.1... The slip is at home, but I had the same 60ft times for both of the 15.3 and 15.1 runs so I must have shifted at a better spot.. I can't seem to do better than a 2.3 60ft.. There is definitely a mid 14's in this car.

I'm assuming the DA's for the day must have been bad, and/or track badly prepped.

Just keep practicing. Your 60ft is limited by your experience and/or the track preperation.

Sometimes, anything less than 2.3xx is not possible is the track is badly prepped.

Goodluck. Like I said, just go out there and have fun. The more experience, the better the times (assuming the DA's stay constant, which never do).

A mid 14 second car for sure! 15 seems kind of high... where are you located?

I'm in phoenix AZ.. Altitude is something like 1127 ft above sea level.. Pontiac GTO's run mid 14's on this track. Everyone says that this track is a tough one to get good runs in.. Somehow though, a chevy blazer SS ran a 14.4

There was a mustang with a parachute that leaked fluid all over the track twice, we had to wait for about 30 minutes each time they cleaned it up.

PS: I HATE GETTING RAPED BY FAST PICKUP TRUCKS!

Also, I have a really bad traction problem.. i have almost new goodyear street tires w/ about 85% tread left. I alway spin off the damn line, if I didn't spin in my 15.1 run I would have broke 14's.

VDC off, powerbrake to 2K rpm, 3rd yellow let off the brake and floor it.

hmm something seems wrong. dont want to make you feel bad but, that 15.1 and 15.3 seems a long way off from where you should be. you should atleast do a 14.7. do the 1/4mile correction and see what time comes up.

sounds like LACR track that we used have in cali. Almost 3k above see level and HOT temps all the time. Auto G35s never got into 14s at that track.

Yup, everyone says that its a difficult track. I raced a scion tC and he ran a 16.2.

Temp there was was around 75 at night. Regardless, I'm going to head down there every week untill i break 14's.

Get rid of the intake for about a week, make a couple passes, then reinstall the intake. I'm pretty certain you'll see that you're quicker with the stock airbox.

I do not think you have ever run at Firebird before . You either need to have a fast car or be a good driver to get good times here. Most 5AT's I have seen on this track usually run 15.0-15.5 and most 6MT's run between 14.6-15.0 (both stock & modded). Also most 350Z's run mid to high 14's on this track as well.

To the OP I believe we have run before. I'm Francis with the black G35. Have you been able to improve your times?
