VIDEO: 1/4 Mile @ Auto Club Dragway- Coupe's, Sedans, Nismo 370Z, Altima & More
Elevation really isn't the factor. Fontana is at about 1,500' which isn't huge. If you went by the NHRA correction factors, 1,500' you'd take your ET time 0.9835. The DA conditions (which included elevation) was 1,800' so your 14.06@99.8 would have corrected to a 13.77@101.9mph. For your mods, that's probably a little slow considering. 105mph for a Rev-up with an exhaust and test pipes sounds a bit fast to me, but it was Sacramento where Celica GTS' with intakes have reportedly gone 14.3s@99mph
Different tracks, different times. It's frustrating for everyone.
For some reason the left lane had everyone (other than awd) spinning like crazy! If you look at the very first run of the vid I spun more than any time I've raced (3.3 60 ft)... I was at 7K and didnt move until I completely let off throttle - and cruised down track at 65-70...

I know how it is I used to live there. I had to leave my house by 330am to make it to wait in line at 6am. I don't miss it, but I do miss hanging out with the regulars.
What sucks is half your time is tech over here tech lasts only 5 mins they don't check anything except lugnuts.

Also, good job to everyone. If you were running on the east coast, times would've been a little quicker.
they look at them when you pull up and when they put on your number, but still it only takes 5min and that's from filling out the tech card.
I used to live in socal and it takes you 1-2 hrs to get through tech depending where you are in line of 400 cars.

Different tracks, different times. It's frustrating for everyone. We'll see what I do when I get to Sacramento next month. They have a Test N Tune New years eve and and full drag day the next day. I should get about 5x the runs as I would in Fontana up there.
With my 13.8/13.9@105, I'm hoping for better times this year. In addition to the exhaust and test pipes, I've added the MREV2, spacer, and Osiris along with drag radials. Hopefully those combined mods would get me better times at Sacramento.
Maybe early in the new year, I'll get ART pipes along with a retune. Hopefully that will get me to 13's at Fontana with a mediocre 2.1 60ft.
If I have extra cash, I'll get a Motordyne exhaust, but my cheap knowck-off exhaust is doing very will so far. Other plans would be for headers and a 3.7 diff or 4.11 gears, JWT Flywheel and clutch. I just want to hit 13's at Fontana consistently with the least amount of mods possible on pump gas.
Looking at my last time slip from yesterday, I'm pretty sure I could have gotten into the 13's with a 2.0 60ft. I really don't need more mods for 13's, just a better 60. Next time I'll keep my drag radials on or have better street tires. I was running on Nankang NS-2's. I took the DR's off because they felt very twitchy after 60 mph and the back end wanted to come out after 80mph. When I checked the tire pressure, they were only at 15 -17 PSI after the run. Didn't bring my air compressor.
So I was stuck running on Nankangs. The Altima guy ended up using it and was fine with low pressure. So far I'm pretty impressed with the REVUP at Fontana with such minimal mods. I never expected to run a 14.0 with the stock 3.5 gears. Other than the stock 370Z, I had the least amount of mods out of everyone out of our group.
Once again, big thanks to Mike for helping out yesterday with everything. Made everything smooth.
Silencer, if you ever want to come down to SD again, let me know. The track here is pretty fun.
Mark, try to make it down to too. I'll be taking off to go overseas for a few months at the end of Jan.

Thanks for taking the video! I look like such a noob going back and forth at the staging light haha, but had lots of fun.
I'd definitely be down to join you guys in SD, just let me know when.

Prop to someone from LA comming down to SD for a performance event! Next race date is on the 17th. Races start at 6pm to midnight. Be prepared to run your car. You'll get about more runs than you can shake a stick at. Just make sure you have enough gas if you plan to run that much. A 1/4 tank goes fast at this track.
Let me know!
. if you get there late (during warmups) inspections only take a few minutes. they do seem to check over everything though.
It was a very weird day as far as the times went. I basically was trapping only 1mph higher than my G before TPs and retune (never ran after TP and retune). I was extremely disappointed in my Z with the trap speed which was only 100mph. I really do not care about the ET as much because that is all skill but trap speed is truly how fast your car is. The track day proved that a Bolt on G35 is as fast as the 370Z. A car that is rated "350hp" and weighing 3300-3400 lb should be faster than that. I do however think my Z is one of those "slow" factory cars unlike my G which was freakishly fast from day one... There has been a auto 370Z (which is i know faster than 6MT) in that same track that has trapped 107 bone stock... I know auto is faster than 6MT but there is no way it traps 7 more MPH.....
I am going to dyno my car very soon at the same place where i have all my G35 dynos and make a comparison in the power...
Other than that it was good meeting you all!

That reminds me. When you get your Z dynoed, why don't we just set up a dyno day!
I know what you mean, it just doesn't add up when i compare it to you and mikes trap speeds. I know i shift pretty decent considering I have had lots of runs with my G which was prown to mis-shifts... My 60ft was 2.1x which is pretty good for the Z considering it has over 500lb/inch spirng rate in the back.. We will see how it goes on the dyno. It will be insteresting to compare to other HRs and modded DEs that he has saved on the file including my old G...
