first time at track

so as the title says, i ran my 07 g35x for the first time friday night. it was awesome.

no one seemed to get much traction, my slip light came on a few times in second gear....

anyways
worst run
60'--- 2.397
1/8---9.697 @ 75.51
1/4---14.825 @ 96.62

best
60'--- 2.176
1/8---9.284 @ 76.83
1/4---14.341 @ 97.67

so if i took the vdc off and just mashed the gas it seemed to do the best runs for me in the x.
i tried building up rpms before i took off and those were the runs when the car ran the horrible 60' and bad times...

but im wondering if a car with 105k miles, crap valvoline oil, k&n drop ins, a tune, and junk tires should be running better times?

there was a guy in a nismo 350z with good tires and he was running 13.8. is it because of the intake ad exhuast, the light weight and 6 speed?

Should be faster, but that comes with practice. Good time your 1st time out.

What did you do different between your worst and best? Improve on what you did different and you will be faster.

Since your auto try to hold 3rd through the traps shifting to 4th slows us (5at) down.

Have you changed out your plugs yet since your at 105mi?

I always read that for autos to get the best starts we should hold the brakes and rev to about 3k and then let it loose. is it different for X's?

3k launch is pretty high for autos if its a rwd and running street tires. It will end up spinning the rear tires non stop until traction control kicks in and cut off fuel. I usually launch around 1.8k to 2k. My 60 foot is usually around 2.0 to 2.1. But since this guy is an X, he should have no problem launching his car at 3k for the best 60 foot.

The only difference was playing with revs and turning traction control off And on. I also let the car shift itself. I will try and shift it manually this year. yes the plugs have been changed. And all the fluids as well.

I tried revving it up a bit but I don't think I got it past 2k or so and I didn't think the car liked it. But I will try 3k this year and see what happens

I think the track was just really bad. I wasn't the only one spinning tires on awd cars that night
