first time at track

04 coupe, auto. let the car do the shifting, which i now realize is a bad idea. Held down brake and released between 2-3k spun out each time(track prep was not the greatest) had very slow reaction.

.52 reaction, 2.6 60 ft, 15.4 et, 92 mph

.95 reaction, 2.3 60 ft, 15.06 et 90.96 mph,

im pretty sure that if the track prep was better, if i had done the manumatic shifting and if i could react better id be running low 14's like i should be.

kinetix v+ plenum
injen short ram intake
tein basis
rear camber kit and toe bolts

from my experience in these cars, which isnt much, i keep it in ds mode and only shift it at the end of the track to keep it in third.

i tried building pressure in the transmission but didnt do it enough. so your on the right track... but if your having trouble with wheelspin id say roll on the throttle, dont expect your tires to do all the work

so in second gear put it in manumatic to keep it in third, and i think that if i go on a night that they prep the track better, and it doesnt rain right before i shouldnt spin to much

Just use tiptronic the entire time. Did you lower the PSI in your rear tires at all? Your 60' should be around 2.1-2.2

No. The clock for the 60' doesn't start until the car moves. I never cared about reaction time since I usually race for time, not to beat the car next to me. Next time let air out of the rears and see how that works for the launches, I usually go down to 20psi.

Depends on the tires as well if lower pressure works better. It also doesn't hurt to try. Get consistant times and then mess with the tire pressure.

And yes better day better weather and prep will help but you should be faster any ways, also what is you elevation

If the track is not hooking when you stall it up you need to launch off idle and flash the converter. You will run much better.
