The 05' just came out just give it some time......HEY YOU 05's GET TO THE TRACK NOW, WE WANT TO KNOW HOW FAST YOU GUYS RUN......WE ARE WAITING!

Joke aside, its still winter, people are probably just breaking in their cars. I think most tracks start to open late March to early April in the north part of North America.

Saw an 05 G35 5A rental run a 9.3 at 73mph today(they were only running 1/8th mile today). It appeared to have a passenger as well.

Was it at Infineon?

I saw 05 rental there running 9.6-9.7 with 72mph.
I was running the same in my 04 with 74mph traps. My best 60ft time was 2.36, I didn't want to abuse auto tranny.

Yes it was at Infinion. I had to leave early but the 1st run I saw the 05 G35 sedan run a 9.3 at 73mph with a passenger in his car. He probably got a decent 60 foot time that run. A 9.3 is somewhere around mid 14's. I think the sport suspension package G35's should be able to get better 60 foot times but the bigger 18 inch rims will hurt a bit. Anyone notice that the 05 G35 17 inch rims are only 7.0 inches wide?

05 speeds...

Have there been any published 3rd party tests on the 05 6MT?

I've had mine for 6 weeks and am in process of an I-15 to I-5 to I-80 break-in (decided to drive for these work trips...). Altitude has made a serious difference (as expected)

I have 0-100 drag-raced a 350 track and a twin-t 300z w intake and pipes and beat them both (san jose area) but when I get to my local dragstrip and run it in April, I never trust altitude charts and other x factors.

If there are no road&track-like tests out there, I'll just have to see in April.

Musashi, are you planning to go Infineon in April? You mentioned you were from the South Bay.

I spoke with the guy, he told me that his best run with 2 people was when he torque braked. The slip that he showed me was 9.71. He said that ownz a Z and just couldn't bring it for whatever reason. I have yet to see the footage my friend recorded.

I recently ugraded to 235/50-17 and it made the car noticeably slower. Even with fronts at 40Psi.

Overall I think track conditions were crappy expecially as it got colder, was spinning through second with 3/4th throttle. Waiting for warm Sonoma evenings and 1/4th mile track.

I don't think you should be hoping for warm weather in the drags. I have an 03 Maxima SE with the same VQ35 and it responds HORRIBLY to warm weather. I have a best time of 14.4 at Infineon, and that was when it was 49 degrees last year. On a day when it was in the 80's, every car was running .5-1 sec slower than they should have...

Vodkarocket, that's a pretty good time for Infineon. What mods do you have on your Maxima and what was the mph on the 14.4 run?

I don't think running in 80+ degree temperature makes for good times either. From my past runs and what i saw at Infineon spectating, best conditions are as follows. Warm and sunny during the day (70-80), track really warms up and than fog comes over the hills and cools down the air in the valley in the evening. Sub 2sec. 60ft. times from the cars you wouldn't even expect to be able to do it.

Sorry for OT, vodka, do you drive a Z?

My 05 is almost at 1200 miles, I just changed the oil for the first time with Valvoline 5w-30 synthetic mix and Napa Gold oil filter. Depending on the weather I might take it out to the track this weekend. Hopefully it won't rain.
