350Z race

So third day of having my car a red 350Z rolls up beside me at a red light. Driver kinda grins at me....im like hrm.

We both roll out normal and at about 3.5k in 1st I punch it...Z does similiar.
I suddenly drop into a coma and completely forget about 2nd gear, I bounce off the rev limiter and finally shift, as I shift to 2nd my sweaty hand slips off the shifter, I hurriedly reach back for the shifter in time for my shift to 3rd at about 80ish we both let off.

Despite my futile abilities at shifting this run(what happend!!!) the Z only had pulled to where my front wheel was at his door.

I am excited/happy, next time maybe I wont screw up my shifting

P.S. the Z was a six speed talked to the driver at the next light.

if you messed up your shifting and it only put him half a car ahead, im going to have to assume he missed the shift as well... that is if he is driving the 300 hp variation of the car. just due to weight he should have pulled a little more ahead, but whatever, good race, do some engine work and go kill him...

I miss shifts all the time - all the great ones do! LOL

Just dont miss em when theres a crownd of a few hundred people standing next to your car, late at night, in south philly - embarrasing!

so I finally got a chance to race a 350z tonight... No happy ending here, we took off from the line and when we came to a stop he had about a car and a half on me for the first two races but when we went from a roll it was about dead even, so that's a good thing. Could my 19" volk challenges have been a factor in this race? And yes I turned the VDC off, man does the rear end feel loose with it off!
