so Im sitting at a red light on the way back from lunch I see this red porsche pull up fast like hes speeding...he stops Im sitting there waiting wondering if hes going to go or not, but I wasnt sure so I didnt bring my revs up...the light turns green and what do you know he goes...(I launch basically at idle) I get on it right away and hes about 1/2 a car ahead of me.... I slap it into 2nd and I pull up a bit...now Im at his fender...slap 3rd and a lil through 3rd Im a lil more than a car or so ahead...then I see his front dip down so I guess he shut down....I heard and seen him shifting as I was pulling away from him in 2nd so I know it wasnt auto...so anyway I slow down, and get into the turn lane to turn into my work...as he drives by I rev at him, and see it carrera 4...wow wat a waste of money lol.

 

I know what you mean...gotta the love the feelin of blowing away someone who may as well paid almost double or more for their car then what you paid for your G. Mine is supercharged and i just absolutly LOVE comin to a light next to an M3 and punching it leaving him in the dust....PRICELESS!

yea I thought it was just a regular boxter, or carerra... but I was wrong.. it was a red carrera 4.... I was laughing when I seen that. and I forgot to add my mods...

I call BS unless this guy was stuck in a gear. Maybe when you saw his nose dive it was because he hit the limiter?

 

dont matter I was already more than a car ahead when I seen him shut down. I just did a search and the carrera 4 is supppose to do a 0-60 in 5.5 and so is the g35 only thing is the carrera 4 is suppose to pull a 13.9 and g35 stock says 14.0-14.2..not that far apart in performance and only around 25 more hp over the G35 stock.... also it was a convertable so its probably alot more heavier than a hardtop.

 

What year? And what are your sources? Besides, mag racing doesn't mean squat.

A quick search of dragtimes.com shows mid 2k carrera's doing high 12's @108-109 mph.

Maybe I'm just not up to speed on the various porche models, but the only way you're going to approach those times with a ztube is if that ztube has a turnonator in it.

shows a carrera 4 rated at 13.9
and shows g35s rated at 14.0-14.2 but I have seen a couple stock ones pull a high 13 ...I need to test my car at the track when it opens back up. Maybe it all came down to driver who knows also it was a convertible so its alot heaver than the hardtops that are tested...I have 100s of track runs so I would say Im a pretty good driver...

O well I won and it was a fun race...totally did not expect the guy to take off from the light.
