The G35 didn't lose the last race...If you listen to the announcer. He told us the time of the STI and then the time of the G35...The G35 won the last race...

Check out that vid.. Try and figure out which car is crying like a lil biotch.. haha.

"wahhhh wahhhh ahh wahhh".

LAUGHING MY FN AZZ OFF. hahaha.

This is classic coming from someone who doesn't drive competitively.

Bad drivers race the straights and drive the turns.
Good drivers race the corners and drive the straights.

I suspect you'd find yourself second to a Honda Civic with a good driver.

Sorry if that sounded rude, I'm not trying to be mean, but if you race straight line, you own the wrong car.

Since the racing section of this discussion forum hardly gets any traffic...let me say I have done four track days at Sebring. This is a thread about my experiences in chronological order for the most part. It includes some pictures and links to videos on Streetfire.net. I have only run my car totally stock to date. The car is a blast on the track and quite forgiving for this learning novice.

Damn those are some decent laps. I would guess the apex on two of the turns was maybe late, but a late apex is better than a fast one, and I shouldn't be talking anyway since I've never driven Sebring in anything but Forza and Gran Turismo.

All of my experience is in autocross.

The apexes may be a little late but they are safer than apexing early and running out of track...going into the grass and meeting the wall At an HPDE event with the speeds that you can reach on a race track they actually teach/prefer you to apex a touch late because of it being safer. It also allows you to apply throttle before the apex effectively lengthing the next straight. As you pick up speed and confidence you can start to learn to turn in earlier. This technique would suck in a race since you could be leaving the inside line to the person behind you I feel comfortable pushing the car more around the slower esses and sweepers, but the very fast turn 1 (about 90mph for my comfort) and the VERY bumpy turn 17 with blind tightening apex and approaching outside wall are not where you want to learn your limits. Turn 17 almost ate my car and me on my last event as my last post described.

The longest post about my first experience I believe shows the complete euphoria and awe I was experiencing I have been to no other tracks because Sebring is awesome and the only track I can get to and back in one day. I would love to go more often but the fees, gas, brake,,,,etc can get very expensive.

I love Forza 1 and wish I had Forza 2 so I could push a computerized G35 to the limit to see what lap times I could get. In real life I drive to have fun and drive home. Even with that mind set I have had a couple of OH CRAP moments but with no bad consequences.

Thanks for the positive comments to XaWN I just reread my post and realized I am telling someone who autocrosses what early and late apexing is...sorry It is the teacher in me!

I did both time attack and drifting in the g35. Our track here on Oahu, HI closed in April 2006 so, it's been a while for me. Drifting becomes somewhat of an impulse reaction whenever I feel like it. But there's been a spike of police patroling now so drifting has been supressed, somewhat. There's AutoX here on our Stadium grounds once a month but AutoX was never my thing. One of these days I will give AutoX a try.
