VDC off Holy $hit!

I just went for a spin with the VDC turned off. WOW! Yes, I did experience oversteer, along with over power, over torque, and over enjoyment.

I have to admit, if you are carving a curve, and upshift, you had better mind your manners, or 260 foot pounds of torque is going to kick you in the pants, and it will cause oversteer.

Apparently, when the VDC is off, you are in control. So the car is not going to hold you hand and keep you out of trouble.

I love this car!

Your right. I made the whole thing up.

But for the rest of you out there; Be very careful if you have to drop a gear in a curve, the results can be an eye opener.

Re: VDC off Holy $hit!

Thanks Base! There seems to be a huge difference in performance among different G's. I drove three before I bought mine. One of them seemed to be slower than the others. If I had driven that car first, I probably would not have bought one. The one I have now is very fast and snappy with the shifts. Enjoy that shifter. It gets hot in the sun, ouch!

I held down the VDC button for 20 seconds and the light showing it was off went out on the dash. Had to turn off and start the car again to get it working. Does this really shut the whole thing down? The difference in handling is dramatic.

Re: VDC off Holy $hit!

Im not sure about the G, but the vette does the same thing. Hold the Traction Control button down for 5 seconds and it turns it off and puts the car in "competative driving" mode. Much faster that way. I do know that there is a component out there that will allow the vette to start in this mode, you actually have to turn the Traction Control (VDC) on when conditions warrent it. BTW: im dumping my vette for the G35sc, mine will be here end of Oct.
