Squeeky Clutch - need some advice

Whenever I press and release the clutch pedal, you can hear a fairly loud squeek sound comming from under the car. It's a long squeek, matching the motion of the clutch pedal...

I took it in for service, and had a re and re on the clutch slave cylinder. It didn't really do anything (great use of $50). I went back and they told me the only other thing they can do is replace the transmission, which wouldn't be covered under warranty...

There has to be something else they could try before replacing the entire transmission. That seems very extreme for a squeek noise.

Any ideas on what else it could be?

Did a search and came up with this thread. Does anybody else have this problem. It is possible to have the problem fixed--or do we know what is causing the noise? I just noticed the same thing and also have a 03 w/ 34k miles.

nothing yet. i've noticed that it doesn't make the noise if the car has been sitting for a long time, ie in the morning before i go to work. once i get to work, park the car, then press the clutch, it squeeks....

I just had the same problem. I took it to the dealer and they seemed to have fixed it on the first try. I think they just lubed something up. My car as 38k miles on it now.

I had the squeeky noise on my clutch as well..

They changed my whole tranny including master cylinder(correct me if wrong). It was covered under warranty at the time. Take it to the dealer and tell them you need a new tranny.

mine is squeaking too. Dealer said they didn't hear anything but now it seems to be getting louder.

Sooo a new tranny for the squeak. This may not be a bad thing since mine seems like it is starting to grind at times when shifting.

mine is at 69000 miles right now.
I have replaced my tranny at 49000 and dealer should change your tranny because it should be under warranty.
If it squeaks when you just press the clutch. Like boip boip.. sounds like it has water and it is loud that you can hear from outside, then that means it is same problem as my car did.

I also told the dealers that I have been getting grinding at 3rd and 5th when it is cold. It took me 2 years to get the replacement tranny because when I had the first grinding, they didn't really care at first but after 2 years of my complaints and other people's tranny problems, they changed it without any problems.

The new tranny is great and it hasn't failed me yet.

If the dealer doesn't want to change the tranny out.. go to other dealers.

Well they didnt have the car very long, so I think they just lubed something up. However I think it is starting to come back. I can hear a VERY MILD squeek during about the last inch of pressing in the pedal.

So I brought it back for some more work, and had the mechanics look into the squeek again.

This time, they said it sounds like either the pivot or throw out bearing. I know the throw out bearing is having problems, because I can hear it rattling around sometimes when the car is not in gear, and because it goes away when I press the clutch pedal. But would this make it squeek?

Does anyone have any experience with problems related to the pivot? What pivot is this? Is this just a bolt? Or more complicated?

Also, the dealership claimed that after 3 yrs and 60k, neither the bearing or the pivot would be covered under warranty. I could understand if the clutch plate was messed up from harsh driving, or the transmission was beaten up from bad shifts, but the bearing/pivot going? How do you mistreat a pivot?

Same thing happened to me last week. I took it into the dealership and they said it was my throw out bearing. Everything was done under warranty, and my car is a 03 with 45,000 miles. They should take care of it under warranty. They are BSing u because they have to remove the tranny to get to the throw out bearing located it the bell housing.
