TCS/VDC/LSD

Hey folks, need some expertise on this. My plan was to order my Coupe with the Wheel Package, but when I found out that it came with the extra titanium trim inside I had to cancel that part. No sense in filling my ride with all that expensive black leather just to stick what looks like a giant Casio wristwatch in the middle of it.

Anyway, I’m okay with going aftermarket on wheels, but I’m sad about not having LSD perfectly installed and waiting for me when I pick it up. Anyway, here’s my two questions:

1. Since the G35 already has TSC and VDC, how does that all interact with the LSD? Does one override the other, or are they complimentary? It seems like each strives to reach similar results through slightly different routes.

2. Given the potential conflicts above, is it a bad idea to try to hook up LSD after I receive it?

Based on limited experience, I think I’m most comfortable with LSD, but it’s not worth riding around with the Casio.

Counsel?

Another idea for you might be to just get the tire and wheel package and then get a sash kit that goes over the aluminum trim that you don't like. As far as I know, there are carbon fiber and wood package trims already available for a very reasonable price.

Here's a better idea... get the wheel package, and I can guarantee you someone will trade you a black center console for the aluminum one plus a bit of cash. ;-)

Re: TCS/VDC/LSD

the lsd will be the first line of defense. now when you go past that, the tsc and vdc will take over. as i have said before, lsd is a must on a car as capable as the g35.........

Re: TCS/VDC/LSD

Well, what is relative here is that LSD stands for Limited Slip Differential. That is your rear end transaxel, if you add LSD after the fact, what you are saying is that you plan on replacing the rear drive axel in the car.. I have read that LSD also interacts with the brakes on the Coupe, but I think that is part of the tie together all these systems have with the VDC, however, an LSD driveline is mechanical as it is the type of rearend, power can be varied between both wheels as opposed to just driving one rear wheel. I have the Titanium trim & love it, but I am also Silver with the Willow leather inside, so everything is light, I agree the black would be very stark. I would say the LSD is a must in this vehicle, I have to agree. I have also seen these carbon fiber ktis to cover the console & that seems like a reasonable option, I can certainly promise you it will be MUCH cheaper than the cost of parts & labor for replacing the entire rear driveline of the vehicle.....
