Granny shifting works but the benefit is only 1-2 mpg.

Don't forget less wear just by saving rev's; why not?

I had another G ease by me on I-45 south just this morn and I guess he was turning 3000 at 20MPH... I could hear the exhaust and though "why"?
Whatever makes him happy; it did sound good but seemed like just a waste cause' we were going nowhere fast, there was a good mile of traffic ahead.

Maybe its just me but im not really concerned with gas milage. We drive a sports car not some hybrid 30+ MPG car. Its not uncommon for me keep the RPM's around 3000-3500 at any given point. I like the sound of the car and I want other people to know that. So what i only get about 280-290 miles to a tank of gas. Thats just the nature of the beast

whoever told that dude is a dumbass
that dude is a dumbass
whoever listen to that dude is a dumbass

they made 6 gears 1,2,3,4,5,6 for a reason...to use them
if that saves gas then they should make only 1 gear for all the cars...that would save 1/6 of the gas bill yes?

hummm...just thought about this
what if we use no gear, just cut an opening on the floor and use your feets to power the car like the flint stone.now that will cut the gas bill by 100% don't you think?

Just kick out your windshield, buy a few horses... have them run in front of your car and route the reigns in through your windhsield opening so you can still get around in your G35 but in a more horse-and-wagon style. Might be a 2 man operation, one to steer and operate the brakes while the other mans the Horsepower controls(reigns).

Why not just imagine we're driving and just stay home; hell, we wouldn't even need a car and could save the entire cost???
LOL

Skipping gears on a 6MT is like Snoop Dogg skipping a day off weed.

I always thought 99% of 6MT drivers got an MT to enjoy shifting through each gear.

I shift around 3k or higher everytime... i can care less about saving gas.. thats why i bougth the car... FYI.. FYI: you will damage your synchromesh (you guys with tranny issues know how bad the G's MT's synchromesh is) by skip shifting
