MMMMMMM, toasted clutch anyone? I guess that dude was goin for the "chameleon" look, but from the inside-out.

And yes, "Sports Luxury Car" works for me, as the 'luxury' denotes the fact that the car is about 1000 pounds too heavy, but the "sports" reflects the body lines (IMO somewhat sporty, but still too fat to be pure sports car looks) and "aggressive" engine note, rims, etc etc. To me, it's a semi-luxury coupe with a flair of sports car influence, but by no means an actual sports car.

In response to Civics, Golfs, STis, Evos, etc....they're Sport Compacts. They rock my socks, but they're still not sports cars, and never will be.

Overall, I love my car, but I wouldn't bother taking it to the track, personally. It's a nice blend of several genres, but as evidenced by the drawn out discussion, doesn't clearly fall into a single category........so, I vote "Sport Luxury Coupe" as the closest match.

Are the G37 clutch as crappy as our G35? I herd it was a bit smoother, but the engagement point is still way too high.

I have to agree the transmission is not all that it's cracked up to be. I personally like the feedback also but I'm grinding 2nd gear in the cold right now and I've been to 2 dealers and neither one will stand behind it. I just get the you need a clutch treatment. No slipping or anything and drives well when warmed up. What's the deal? Am I crazy for believing I don't need a clutch

I have driven several nissan manuals, (older Z models and maximas) and none of them had the gearshift vibration... it turned me off at first but I have come to like it. As far as clutch life span I have over 112,000 miles on the original stock clutch. It still driving fine. It dose have some chatter though. I very happy with the transmision in my G.

I have driven several cars with MT and enjoy my G's MT. It isn't the most user friendly clutch but by no means is it bad. I suppose it is all user preference. The only thing I would change about the MT is to have a shorter clutch engagement, make it a little sportier. But then again it is suppose to be a luxury coupe and not a sports car.

1. something u have to get used to
2. Im at 60k with stock clutch still about 30-40 to go with over 100 hard launches, and chirping through gears, it will cost u anywhere from 700-1000$ with labor if ur gonna just change the clutch,
3. *** ya, I would take the 6MT over AUTO any day any time, even when im dead tired in traffic.

It's called ENGINE BRAKING. V-configuration engines have way stronger engine braking than inline engines. Good drivers know how to use this to their advantage.

If you people want smooth everything with no vibrations, and no "jerking," buy a FWD car with an inline engine (e.g. Civic, Accord, etc.). A RWD V-6 car will never please you, no matter what brand.

Ever driven any other manual cars besides the one from Infiniti? No chatter. Drive a BMW.. Heck, drive a honda civic. No chatters.

Out of integra, S2k and G35,, the G35 has by far the worse clutch out of the cars. The honda transmission are much smoother, not as notchy and the engagement points for the Hondas are PERFECT..

Don't lie to yourself. The G's manual transmission is horrible. Thir Automatic Transmission is ok. But, the G35 clutch engagement point is way off. And I remember people here trying to fix it using a PENNY. hahaha.
shut ur mouth ricer.

it is well known in the "Racing Community" about flywheel chatter...

When I had a 7lbs flywheel in my car and was sitting idle at a light, people would ask if I really had a racing flywheel / clutch set up, i just would blip the throttle and it would fly up to red-line
