can standart auto transmission work with 400 hp
Dear Friends - I am like you love G35 coupe. I am from Russia, Moscow.
I need you help. Can you explain:
i am gonna buy 04' G35 auto. I wanted to set on my G35 APS sistems (twinturbo)but i am afraid could it work with standart 5 speed auto transmission
how do you think? Or i must buy only 6mt if i want to set turbo kit on it?
thanks

If possible, get the 6MT. 5AT is fine for low boost, but it's the tq that's killing it. You can back it up by Valve Body upgrade, new Torque converter, etc. But it gets expensive and will be a hassle, considering you're living in Moscow.
So get the 6MT to save you the headaches in the long run

Yeah- Agreed. 5AT can do the 400hp without much of ap roblem- I wouldn't however, run that amount of horsepower without at least planning on upgrading the transmission within months at the latest.
Just go with a 6MT and upgrade the clutch- tho i've been to russia and know what a wierd place to drive.
