Question about the stock clutch on a 2005 sedan 6mt

Hey guys.
Just got my car back from an engine replacement due to the oil consumption tsb. While it was in the shop the dealers being the sleezy dudes they are asked my dad if he wanted to replace the clutch on the car as it seemed the flywheel was in bad shape and was probably gonna go in about 10k miles. My dad being the non-g35 guru that he was accepted their offer since they were not going to include labor. The price was still hefty at 1200 for just parts. My question is: originally, my car came with a light flywheel.. or so infiniti said. It had all the upgrades and i guess this light flywheel was one of them. When they replaced the clutch assembly and shiz they didnt mention a light flywheel on the receipt. And i can only find one type of flywheel availalbe for the g35 at several vendors. Can someone fill me in? Is the light flywheel better? Should I have gotten it? Should I be as mad as I was a few hours ago after hearing this news, or is this clutch gonna be aright?

Thanks for the help

As far as I know I think the 05-06 only came with a Dual Mass flywheel.

The cars original flywheel is not light so I'm not sure what the dealer was telling you. Maybe a line a bullshi** to close the sale?? IDK
buckeye is correct just one oem flywheel part number.

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me.

The oem flywheel is a 28lb dual mass. The only performance one most dealers install is the Nismo one (single pc ~22lbs). Some will also do Jim Wolf but that will depend on how into performance parts they are. It doesn't sound like they are.

How many miles were on the car? What they did MAY have been a good deal after all. If they saw "hot spots" on the flywheel, you were due for a new one anyway. They saved you a lot of labor. It's $2200 otherwise.

Do you have the dealer invoice/reciept for your service? It should list everything done and the part numbers of the parts used. All stock flywheels on these cars are dual-mass, but many swap out to a single lightweight unit.

Dealer labor on swapping clutch/flywheel is expensive as pointed out above--if they didn't charge you, that's a good amount of money saved.

Yeah I realize I saved a lot of money but I would have rather bought the jwt one most on the forum buy in my situation. I wasnt happy with the 1st clutch due to it's excessive stickiness and harsh engagement point.(adjustable I know). And on the invoice it mentions the dual mass one you guys are talking about. Is there anyway the dealer put in the nismo light flywheel when I first bought the car? I remember the salesman saying "This is the one with the light flywheel too". I was aware there was a nismo light flywheel at the time and bought what he was saying. And i have 35k miles by the way.
Whatever though.. I'll just live with this clutch until it goes out then maybe upgrade in another 40k or something.
Thanks for the info
