Clutch or Trans problem????

I evacuated for Ike and while on the road and my clutch slipped. It only did it once so I didn't think much about it. On my way to work Saturday I was going up an overpass crusing in 5th at around 2500-3000 rpm. As I started up giving it more gas my revs jumped up to around 5500 but I didn't gain any speed and I knew something was wrong. I exited and pull into a parking lot and stopped to check it out. I tried to pull it into a spot to leave it till I could get it towed home and it didn't move at all. All it would do is just rev but not load up. I put the car in first and took my foot off the clutch and it kept running. I'm thinking it's the clutch is shot. Am I right? Please, any thoughts as I am at a loss.

Thanks in advance,
Josh
