Guys i have a 03 coupe and id like to know my car has 55k miles on it, if i want to change my transmission oil (Matic J), would it give me any trouble to my transmission after. I mean is it too late to change it?

 

really no reson to change it unless you beat the **** out of it every day.

i suggest you check the level. if the level is okay, the the fluid looks cherry red, your good to go.

 

Your correct but would it bother the gear shifting if i put Matic J in it since its been driven 55k miles on it.

 

dont add anything if the level is fine. overfilling can be harmful to the transmission.

 

Not overflow but empty old and put new. because i bought 9 litres of it since you have to flush it.

 

no reason to flush it if you dont have any problems.

no reason to change if the fluid looks clean.

 

If the fluid is not clean what color is it suppose to be?

 

A drain and fill is recommended every year or a complete flush every 2 years.

Changing the fluid at regular intervals is the key to a long lasting transmission. That and keeping the heat under control (if the car is modified).

You should've had a flush at 30k miles. I would take it to the dealer and tell them you want them to flush the tranny and in the process make sure the tranny cooler is flushed independently to get rid of debris in it before hooking it back up. That's the only thing that can cause problems from the flush.

 

change it at this oil change.
change it again next oil change.
repeat in 2~3 years.

 

So now that my car is at 55k milesi should drain and fill it back and change the tranny cooler also and im set?

 

just drain and fill.. i dont think there's a need for the tranny cooler..
i think my first tranny change was like @ 50k too

 

The reason flushing the cooler with ATF is recommended is to remove debris that may have been trapped in there so that when you connect up the piping that debris does not enter the transmission. You may not think there's a need but if there is, well, hindsight is 20/20 (if the tranny fails shortly thereafter).
