Car stuck in Nuetral after braking hard! HELP!!!
Hi guys....yesterday I had to hit the brakes pretty hard due to an idiot in front of me. After that my car would not shift and is now stuck in between nuetral and triptonic. I can turn it off but cant remove the key or shift..
Anyone know how to fix this?? I read about some safety mechanism that does this...

the tranny has a safe mode, but nothing that should keep it stuck in drive.
try to use the shift lock over ride to see if you can move the shifter to park, or neutral. then you can take it apart to see if there is anything blocking the mechanism.

Normally you can unplug the battery over night to reset the ECU, sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it will only work for a short time on a car that's in "safe mode".
It doesn't sound like safe mode to me, but try the shift lock thing as mentioned above.
