Clutch Recommendation

i bought a 03 g35 for the gf about a month ago and now the clutch is starting to slip. She can drive pretty good and the car has 70k on the oem clutch so i can't really blame her for it going. But anyways, i've been reading and reading but can't really decide on what to do for buying a replacement clutch. Basically she doesn't pound on the car and it's all stock...plus i don't thing she will like it if the new clutch chatters so i would say a performance clutch is not the answer. An oem type clutch would be the best imo but i can't find any recommendation on which one to buy. I have a friend that can get napa parts at cost so i might explore that avenue. Any rec's on a nice, quite, fluffy clutch for the girl's g?
what about the flywheel too??? you can't turn them i take it so any rec on what to do about that because it doesn't make any sense to me to put a new clutch in with an old flywheel

great site btw...it's helped me out a lot since buying my first g. love the car too...such that i'm looking for an 06-07 for myself

Exedy makes great OEM style clutches, that offer perfomance without chatter(I think). They are basically a lighter, stronger OEM clutch. You can get a full package with flywheel for $400 on eBay.

They weight 18lbs, instead of the OEM 33lb. The chatter comes from 11-12lb ones.

I needed a clutch like a month ago, i was the same as you, i didnt want a performance clutch which chatters... so the shop told me there are oem like clutches around and he bought me a LUK clutch and flywheel.
they put it on and it was so terrible the chatter was making me feel like i was driving a diesel truck. so i paid more and purchased OEM clutch and flywheel and now fighting to get my money back for those LUk parts.
i would say if you can afford OEM clutch and flywheel go for those if you don't like any chatter.

Wow you got absolutely ripped in half at those rates, even in Canadian currency.

US, your looking at maybe 1,700 for clutch and flywheel, and then about 1,000 at the dealer for labor. **** THAT.

Buy an Exedy OEM clutch, and get it installed at a local transmission shop. You looking at 400 for the clutch and probably 500-600 for the labor.

well the parts were 2200$ plus tax i have researched 5 different dealers and this was the best price i got on top of that i got 15% discount because i knew a shop that deal with and used their discount so total came to me about 1900$ plus tax and installation was 240$ for me so it wasnt bad after all eh?

so far i think i'm going with an Exedy OEM...the flywheel is a problem tho. I'd hate to throw a new clutch on top of a 70k flywheel without cutting it, and i can't seem to find an new oem flywheel that's reasonably priced. So the question is now turning to " to cut or not to cut"

I'm not too sure why you bought that bro, from my understanding those clutches are made to hold very high power hence the Stage 4, and it also makes it harder to shift + has a lot of chatter. They do make shifting faster in some way which is why they are called competition clutches, I thought those were pretty much track only.

I told them that eventually I'll have FI...they said that the clutch has much less chatter than the JWT ones. She goes under the knife today...

I think it's not that much of a pain in the ***, just more of if you **** up you permanetly **** up your clutch. The DIY I found is pictureless and uses words that only mechanics will know what they are talking about without some extensive research.
