Drivetrain issue?

I will do my best to describe the problem that I encountered today, and hopefully someone can help me out.
I was heading to work this morning and everything was fine. When I pulled into the parking lot and applied the brake, something fishy was going on. It felt like a spring down around my brake pedal was loose. I thought that maybe I should look around to see if there was a loose spring. On my way home, it did it again. It only happens when I am slowing to a complete stop and when I have my brake applied. Inside the car, I can feel a vibration and hear a "doing....doing....doing" almost like a spring is loose. I haven't been able to figure out the problem, and thought that maybe it could be a drivetrain issue. If not, maybe a clutch issue? It's funny this doesn't happen when I have my clutch in. Could it maybe be an e-brake cable? Anyone ever encounter this type of issue? Thanks

Adam

I honestly don't understand what you're problem is. Are you saying you get a soft/weak pedal? What spring are you talking about? There are no springs...

Are you getting vibration in the brake pedal? A grinding sound? You need to tell us how the pedal feels.

Hey man, thanks for responding to my post. I am trying to explain the problem as best I can. When coming to a stop light....I put my car in neutral. As I approach the stop light, I will apply my brake (and only my brake, not any other pedal) and when the speed of the car decreases to about 5-10mph range, I feel a vibration, and there is a sound of something similar to a spring (the sound of a spring as it expands and then contracts) and feels like it is interfering with my brake pedal. The sound is almost in tune with my driveshaft, it is not a constant sound. It is not a grinding sound, my brakes are not squeaking, and the brake pedal does not feel any different as I push in. I just had my car out for about 20 mins and did not have this problem. I am troubleshooting the problem now, so it doesn't lead to bigger issues down the road.

How many miles, sounds like you "wear indicators on the pads are sounding off.

Car has just over 44k miles. The car runs fine mechanically.

Yeah, the brakes on the 04's were a little softer and made more dust than the 05's and later. So I would have the pads checked for wear.

Thanks for the advice...i'm going to take a look at that. Yea the brake dust is pretty crazy. My wheels are dirty within two days of washing my car.
