Clutch problems

First off just want to say merry christmas to everybody. But I wondering whats going on with either my clutch or clutch pedal. When I let the clutch out, the pedal doesn't come all the way back up. It stops about a inch or 2 short and you have to tap it back up with your shoe. And the clutch pedal is squeeking sometimes. It almost seems like the clutch pedal assembly needs to be lubed or something. Anybody have any idea whats going on?

Well I ended up finding some synthetic grease in my garage and I put some on all the moving parts to the clutch pedal and it actually fixed my problem. Clutch pedal comes all the way up again and no squeeking. Anybody else had this problem before?

I took mine to the dealer with the same problem, they flushed the system and it cured the problem so far. With 70K+ in the car, I think a new clutch is in the stars soon anyway. Let's hope it lasts through the Raging Bull in January.

Yeah it might be a sign the clutch is almost done for me. The clutch lets out real high and when you let out it chatters a little bit. So here in the next few weeks I will go ahead and put in a lightweight clutch and flywheel in it.

I wouldn't rush out and buy a new clutch just yet. sounds like your clutch fluid has gotten too hot and needs to be flushed. easy DIY. very common with our Gs. make sure to use synthetic high temp fluid and i bet you will be good to go

Do a search, there are tons of threads about this. Get your clutch slave cylinder replaced.

Actually vhtran is on 130k on his original clutch, so maybe it's not so close

Average clutch life for our G's is 50 to 60k. vhtran must be doing 90% highway miles.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will try changing out the clutch fluid first and then if it happens again i'll take it to the shop and see if its the clutch slave cylinder before replacing the clutch. Thanks again!
