What kind of replacement clutch kit should I get?
I have a 06, 6 speed coupe and the clutch is beginning to go out. I dont want to repair it with a replacement OEM clutch because Im sure I will be back in the same situation again 25 or 30 thousand miles down the road. I am not real sure what type of aftermarket clutch I should get. Can anyone make a suggestion? The service manager at the local infiniti dealer ship recommended I go with a nismo clutch, I did some research and I do not think nismo offers a clutch kit. Also, the car is still under warranty, I kind of got the idea that I would have to go with a nismo clutch so that it would be covered by the warranty, is that true? Anyway, I want to put a clutch in the car that performs better than the original. Please advise.
Wow you really better brush up on your driving technique if your wearing out your clutch that fast, the OEM one should be good for a longgg time if you drive it probably. And get an Exedy clutch.
excessive clutch wear is mostly found on the 03-04 models. However i would suggest the JWT clutch/flywheel combo i have it, got it for 775 shipped with an SS clutch line and everything needed to install from one of the dealers in classified section.
Also, before you go getting an "aftermarket performance" clutch, you might want to start off with a regular OEM. On my 03 Z, my clutch hung in for at LEAST 80K (sold it around then and the guy I sold it to replaced everything, boosted it, and then wrapped it around a tree). And I used to race that car in some form or fashion 3 weekends out of a month. Drifted it too and that's VERY hard on a car. Performance clutches are typically harder to negotiate than OEM cluches. If you're burning a clutch in 30k miles, you're just going to waste money on a performance clutch. Also, clutches are never covered under warranty because they're wear items.

My g's clutch was most likely swapped out for w.e reason and my clutch is very stiff. My friend has a g35 aswell and his clutch is stock. It feels nothing like my car. Much much softer and doesnt grab like mine. Im curious to find out whats in there but i know that wouldnt be possible without taking everything apart for no reason. Is there any other way to tell
From what I have read, you might as well install a new LIGHTWEIGHT aftermarket fly wheel when replacing the clutch. Apparently, the new flywheel will dramatically improve performance. Only drawback is chatter.
I kinda wish my stock clutch would go out so I had an excuse to go aftermarket.
