How long do you warm up your car before driving? That may be your shifting issue, tranny is cold.

For the rear, post up a pic of how it looks. Is it a huge difference of how it used to be and when did you notice it?

Does the transmission "studder" when going from 2nd to 3rd also?

It's hard to tell, but if it's not your tranny it could also be your engine mounts. Probly not though

I hear a grinding noise whenever I drive the car after it has sat for a while, going from 1-2, and 2-3 I hear it. I know what the ABS test sounds like, this isn't that. It has started happening the past few months, and I don't notice anything different as far as the performance or driveability of the car, but the sound is a bit worrying. Granted I have almost 100K on a transmission that never had its oil changed.

I would drain and replace the fluid every 30k if it were my car.

+1 on letting the car warm up before driving it. I usually start my vehicles 5-10 minutes before i drive them in the winter. You say you change your fluid every 30k? Honestly, when was the last time you changed the fluid. *how long ago? Be honest, like a doctor, you have to tell the truth or how do you expect him to help you
