Ticking\Chattering Noise from Engine area FIXED!
There's nothing you can do to quiet down these transmissions. The more you try the more fail you get and also you run the risk of making things worse. I got used to the noise back in '04 and learned to ignore it ever since. It hasn't gotten worse in the nearly 5 years I've had it, and it still shifts fine.
Well actually since I put the light flywheel on it's about 10x noisier, hehe.
Like I said, nothing you can do except spend money and fail if you want to to be smooth like a honda or toyota.

the car is so much fun to drive
Agreed. I don't have any issues with the interior but the tranny noise I could really care less about as long as it shifts right and bones out
Holy sh*t I was just about to post this exact same problem, but decided to do a search before I did and good thing I did. I've been hearing the noise for a while now and was so scared something would eventually go horribly wrong. Its a ticking noise when the car is idling. When I press in the clutch it goes away but as soon as I release it comes back. Thanks for the info! I will head to the stealership on Monday.
replacing clutch...
I have clicking noise coming from my car when the engine is warm and stays on for about a minute or two even after my engine is shut off (the intervals between clicks get longer as the engine cools). I was near a just parked 350z and I heard the same clicking noise come from it as well. The sound is there with both clutch in and clutch out. I am not annoyed by the sound but it'd be nice to know where the sound is coming from at least.
Cheers!
I had a clicking / chatter noise weeks after I bought my car. Took it to the dealership and they fixed it. 2 years later, still no noise.
The noise happened at very low speeds during 1st gear. Some type of metal noise that didn't sound normal. (when on 1st gear, shift to neural, release the clutch and all of a sudden, it chatters or clicks). The dealer fixed that noise.
----
If the noise is occurring during idle, cold starts, etc etc. Your motor is f'd or ur anti-lock brake self-test.

I never said brake problem. I said the anti-lock brake testing itself. It's test itself every now and then and makes some type of clicking noise.
Google ABS self test.
Anyways, my clutch/tranny after 3 year is still quiet. No clicking no chattering.
