Stuck in 4th gear?

Hey guys I have a 2004 G35 coupe 5AT. Just back a couple months my coupe went bad on me. When I put it in drive it's stuck in 4th gear, Engine light came on and so did the transmission light came on. I am like what the heck is going on, so i took it to a shop so i could read the computer codes. The codes said Pressure Sensor and Speed sensor. The pressure sensor was in the tranny so i got a new tranny for a good deal and decided to swap it to see if that fixed the problem, but no same issue even with the new tranny. I have no idea what to do or how to fix this. Has anyone ran into this mess? can some one help me out. What can i do to fix this.

Thanks

had my auto transmission fluid flushed, my 5AT sedan's manumatic feature not longer works and will only shift up to 4th, when im cruising on the highway it'll stay in 4th. the mechanic said maybe something got wet when i got a car wash and to let it dry out......

im unable to use the manumatic to shift down or up...it won't even show what gear im in on the display, it just shows "D"

does your manumatic feature work?

DUDE, same **** happened to me, the D was stuck there. Yes your mechanic is right something did get wet. A relay to be accurate!. The bad relay is located next to the computer (on the passenger side, by the feet), it is a blue color one water somehow gets in it thro the hood vents, mine leaved cuz i had a sub wires installed and the water went thru that. If you need pictures or more help, just let me know.

i have a bad speed sensor now and it doesnt do this.... it just throws the abs, slip and vdc off lights.... i had my tranny go into safe mode b4, it was right after i left the infiniti dealer for service and they didnt put tranny fluid in.... they filled it up and it went away and no problems since and that was 60k miles ago...

If your 5AT is running hot it will go into failsafe mode and won't allow you to control the shifts in manumatic.

www.bmracing.com look at part # 70264 for tranny coolers. Tranny coolers are recommended for all auto trans.

My boyfriend is having issues with his G35x. His automatic running light sensor blew, and it took out the battery. When he went to start the car before realizing the battery was dead, the lights on the dash were surging/ pulsing. Saw the battery was dead, got a jump, and now the car is stuck in fourth. The manumatic float shifts, changes the display of the gear, but no change otherwise. Park, reverse, and neutral are fine, but as soon as you put in drive, there's a large "thunk" in the back and the car sounds almost like the exhaust is gone when driven below 40 mph. I would appreciate a picture of the relays and location, what you replaced, and the name of the specific relay. Please help!

Had the same issues in my sedan, had to replace the transmission. Could be the transmission valve body. Could be a bad valve body on the replacement tranny too. The ATF pressure switch and Speed sensor switch point to the trans valve body. Or it could have something to do with your TCM, though I believe the 04 tcm was built into the tranny.
