Is this a good setup??

On my old lexus is300 I had a fidanza flywheel matched up with an act ss clutch. Is this a good combo for a 03 g35 with bolt ons? What do most guys here use or recommend?

thanks

It's a fine set-up on the g, but I would just match the act clutch with their flywheel. There really isn't much cost difference b/w them.

Well, ACT put a lot of R&D into the two as a combo. My personal opinion is that you will be fine with either. You can always buy what I run in my car.....OS Giken Integrated set-up.....I love this combo.

I got the car running with the act street disk and the streetlite flywheel and this thing is loud. It scares me and it sounds like things are braking. Is this normal ?

If you opted for an aluminum flywheel then yes the noise is normal. It is called gear noise and results from the elimination of the stock dual-mass flywheel. The sound should go away when you depress the pedal. If this is what you are experiencing then welcome to the world of lightened drive-train components. The only thing that can be done to reduce this noise is use a heavier (single-mass steel, or OE dual-mass flywheel) and use a higher viscosity gear oil. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

ok well originally I thought it was the urethane mounts I installed, but when I layed down under the car to swap them out for stock ones to see if that would solve the problem I noticed something. My buddy who was doing most of the assembly underneath the car forgot to install the screw that goes through the transmission mount . We put the screw back in and all is well. It does have that louder flywheel sound, but not crazy noise as before. Moral of the story...check all your screws. Thanks guys
