universal joints?

I'm pretty sure that I've got a seized universal joint. I won't know for sure until I drop the driveshaft and check, but I'm trying to be ready for it. It's an 04 G35 sedan 6mt with 94k miles. I already called the dealership, and they're telling me they don't show a universal joint as an available part...I would have to buy the whole driveshaft (to the tune of ~$700). I saw something online that seemed to indicate the factory stakes the u-joint cups into place rather than clips like replaceable u-joints have, but I haven't been back under the car again. Sounds like crap to me, there's got to be something easier/less expensive than replacing the whole driveshaft. Anyone else had to deal with this?

Check out www.slidegood.com, they may have a drive shaft. I found one for a coupe, but no have no idea if it fits a sedan and it doesn't say whether it's auto or manual.

Call then anyway if it's not on their site - I got my 6mt drive shaft through them for my auto to manual conversion.

I had an excessive amount of vibration that I couldn't attribute to any single wheel and felt like it was coming from under the car. I pulled the driveshaft and although it wasn't the smoothest thing in the world, nothing was seized and I'm still using it (30k later). After doing that, I took it in and had all the wheels rebalanced and that turned out to be the culprit.
