The Math-Trans Fluid Drain&Fill
On ramps/front end only, 10 7/8 qt capacity[348 ozs] drains out 4qts/128 ozs-thx for that info!..The first FILL w/S-Matic is 128 ozs or 36.78% of 348 ozs.The second DRAIN is 128 ozs-128x36.78% is 47.08 ozs of new fluid drained out, with a balance of 80.92 ozs of new fluid in trans/torque converter system. The 2nd FILL adds 128 to 80.92 so there is now 208.92 ozs of new fluid in system,or 60.035% of the system contains new fluid. The 3rd DRAIN again releases 128 ozs,128x60.035%=76.85 ozs of new fluid drained out leaving a balance of 132.07 ozs of new fluid in system. The 3rd FILL adds 128 ozs of new S-Matic on top of 132.07 for a grand total of 260.07 ozs-this attains 75% new fluid in your system. At $7.99/qt x 12 qts you have spent $95.88 vs. the $269.95 plus tax/misc. the dealer charged the previous owner of my baby 20k mi. ago.I have read the allegations re: T-Tech machines stressing seals, and will not go that route-besides,is there anything more relaxing than lying under your G? [well, maybe that!] Also of note:a fourth DRAIN means 75% of 128 ozs goes by-by[96 ozs of new] lowering new content to 164.07 ozs and the fourth FILL adds 128 to 164.07 for a total of 292.07 ozs-this means you have attained 84.2% of capacity with new S-Matic in the system but have spent only $127.84.I intend to do the 75% thing this weekend upon receipt of shipment from Arizona-hope this helps and note I will be attaining a good mix{I hope} by driving around 10-15 miles or so after each FILL.I cannot see how this doesn't achieve the objective at substantially less cost to me and less stress on my G...

Here's an easier route to change all of the fluid. Make sure you jack the car up on all 4 corners.
#1) drain fluid pan. 4-5 quarts will drain.
#2) remove the hose on the radiator trans cooler.
#3) start car, put vehicle in neutral. Rev slightly. Allow pump to flush out old fluid. Turn car off. Put back in park. **DO NOT PUT CAR IN DRIVE TO DO THIS**
Replace the drain pan and hose up to the radiator. Fill with brand new fluid.
Drive a few miles and then double check fluid level. Done.

Toll-I shied away from that idea upon thinking that there could be an issue with the equivalent of "fuel{read:trans fluid}starvation" that could possibly damage something or 'tother and also had read that when utilizing that methodology,i.e., letting fluid escape via the cooler line at the radiator that you were supposed to be pouring 40-50% more trans fluid than capacity{348 ozs/10 7/8 qts} down the charging pipe 'til runs out new and that is about 5 qts @ $8 per into the recycling barrel @ your local CSK.Keep'em coming tho,as you are one of the denizens of this awesome site that has really been helpful to me as I strive for a black belt in G Zen! Update on the drain&fill...Unlike the photos showing 4 qts drained,my 03 sedan/a/t tonight drained 4 qts 23 ozs [151 ozs]. I had it on dead- level concrete, front end only up on your basic steel ramp set.The new math would then be three drain&fills and a total of 14.16 qts-as .16 qt is 5 ozs,I would just use that 5 ozs from the third drain, which will be 68% new fluid anyway. At 14 qts new fluid needed, your cost would be $111.86 plus shipping[I went w/my new favorite online site,Infinitipartsusa.com]. The total percentage of new S-Matic in the system will be at 81.7% after 3 151 oz d&f's-1st fill brings percentage of new S-Matic in the system to 43.4%,2nd to 68%,3rd to 81.7%...I drained w/no cool-down period and will emulate the next two d&f's to a tee, hoping for identical 151 oz drains after first driving 10-15 miles to gain a good mix each time.Have fun in your garage and be careful!!
