Not the transmission, but the transfer case for AWD.

Can I use Mobil 1 ATF (synthetic)??

Says on the bottle it's compatible with Matic-D applications

If you are looking to claim anything under warranty I would stick with nissan/infiniti recommended fluids. If you are out of warranty use whatever you feel is safe and correct. For the tranny/transfer I have always stuck with nissan fluids (even though I am out of waranty) as for oil/diffs/coolant I use whatever I feel like.

Good advice since this is one item that is specifically stated in the manuals at least for a later Infiniti as being required.

Good point. I'll stick with Matic-D for now. I'll pick some up with some Matic-S for the transmission

I did go with Mobil 1 syn for the F&R diff, but i don't think this will be an issue since hypoid gears aren't that picky.
