You can do a search for www.car-part.com under carrier.
You can get an entire rear diff from a 350Z,g35 for $300-400 complete. That's what I did and it worked great. No messing around.

swapping a VLSD is not as good as getting a clutch type differential such as the nismo or kaaz. For alittle more money, you're getting a betty LSD.

True except the [used junkyard takeout] viscous is maintenance free [other than changing the diff fluid every 2 years] for at least 100,000 miles.........whereas internal work and rework and rework maybe required with other types to keep them optimized.

Re: Open rear end to VLSD swap ?

Mechanical gear and clutch type have wear but either type seem to last as a function of power applied and 260 lb/ft [multiplied by gears] is not a lot of torque as these usually see super/turbocharged service.

Not to say that you can't over heat a viscous and cause them to fail.............the slip ratio increase with stress and temperature also.

The real factor is tire friction [like with drag slicks]. Why they make diff coolers with recuirculating fluid pumps for extreme duty.

I have much more experience with viscous than the other types so I may be biased.
