clutch engaugement changes and some time is soft
clutch engaugement changes and some time is soft
I did a lot of searching and i only found one person that may have a similar problem, but never updated or got a answer... so I thought i would ask.
Car specs
05 sedan premium sport 6mt
light weight fly and exedy oem clutch 11k on it
on my 3rd tranny.
I had the tranny replaced because it was bad so I had the dealer put in a new clutch while it was out.
everything went good.
Turns out that tranny was bad so I got a second one
Then that one the input shaft bearing went bad.
at the time of this replacement I thought it would be good to change the clutch slave cylinder since the tranny is out and labor was cheap to free.( my car had 83k on it)
The dealer put a new slave it, and turns out the one they put in was bad and before I even got the car back they said they put a second slave on the car.
I get the car and my clutch pedal only comes back up half way then kind pops up, it gets stuck or sticks for a second, the dealer said the pedal assembly was bad. I drove on it for a few days and it went away no problems......
Now after driving on it for 8k more miles Just this week I started to notice when the car is cold, or when i first start driving that the clutch is very soft And the engagement point first starts about 55% of the way down.
So if i drive and tap the clutch nothing happens meaning there is play....
after the car warms up the pedal becomes stiffer and the engagement point becomes higher. I only have to press about 30% and the clutch starts to work.
Also if I tap the pedal it immediately starts to come out.
So for sure the engagement point changes.
Does anyone have any idea? The clutch and fly only have around 11k on it, the slave has like 8k on it.
TIA

tranny isnt their fault because the 3rd party extended warranty was to cheap to give me a new tranny, they kept on sending the dealer janky used trannys from wrecked cards...
so does it sound like a air bubble in the system? I was a little iff about the new slave or the bleeding...

Try changing your clutch fluid. I've had a couple of instances of clutch getting stuck so I'm gonna swap the clutch fluid out.
Here's the video you need to look at to see what has to be done, seems pretty simple:
