im hurting plz help
i took my car to a mechanic because my clutch was slipping got a new exedy clutch got it installed. so i get the and the mechanic says well look it may not have been just ur clutch because its not turning on now and the idle valve code is comin on. i went to the dealer before i went to him so i know it wasnt bad before. so i figure maybe the sensor messed up. the engine turns on. >begins to putt and the boggs out. im not sure what it is i want to cry.
and on top of that my transmission is off. i cant describe it but the gears are off when i put them in. it feels like the shifts arent in the right position my fifth gear isnt infront of sixth its a little to the side and doesnt go straight in. i dont even have to push down to get into reverse. i was checking the car and wen i was lookin for sixth i found reverse(without pushing down)

take it back to the mechanic. Show him whats wrong. That isn't normal and wasn't put back in right.
What is the "idle valve" code that you are talking about? I've never heard anybody call it that and I cant make sense of it.
There is a crank position sensor that would have been removed and could be causing issues if something is wrong. Might just need to clean it off and it should get back to working. Easy to do.

tollbooth:
idle valve is honda talk .lol . the drive by wire throttle system is giving the code its the tps > but i gave it to him with it perfect and it came back not working only two days later. i dont understand how if that has nothing to do with the transmission. so there should be no reason it messed up unless it was touched

we aren't Hondas
I don't understand Honda talk
TPS code....which code is it kicking?
The Crank Position Sensor (POS) is the only sensor that he should have removed to install a Clutch. If that is the problem you can have a no-start situation or a bad idle situation if it is dirty. Normally will kick the SLIP, VDC and SES lights at the same time when it kicks that code though.
Post up which code you have.

thats what is happening it idles horribly and then boggs out. i havent seen the code he just told me its the code for the tps. but i think all three lights (slip, vdc and ses are coming on) where is the crank pos sensor located? can i access it easily to clean it myself ? really appreciate the help .

crank position sensor is located on the bell housing between the tranny and engine. reads the flywheel revolutions. if you jack up the front drivers side you can see it. Held in by a 10 mm bolt. You can easily do it yourself....just pull it out, clean off any clutch dust and put it back in. Should be good to go.
thanks but i cleaned the crank pos senor and still no go. but ima just going to do a thottle close position reset ecu reset and just see what happens from there . is it easy to get past the driveshaft . the exhaust is no problem
