Help! A truly unusual noise (even for a G35 transmission)

Has anyone else ever experienced a 6mt clutch that intermittantly makes a rotational rubbing / grinding noise when you have the clutch pedal pushed in? The noise stops when I let the clutch back out and does not start again unless I am driving and depress the clutch while slowing down (and even then it only happens once in a while).
This noise started 2 days after we replaced the clutch/ flywheel and all bearings. We did replace the flywheel with a solid rather than dual mass, and we do have the "normal" tranny gear noise at idle. We brought the car back to the tranny shop and they replaced the entire clutch kit (clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing). The car was nice and quiet for about 1 day and now the sound has come back again. Has anyone ever heard of a flywheel causing these symptoms?

i have it currently on my 03 with 73k (stock clutch and flywheel). I've heard this is a bearing issue (pilot or throwout). I hope mine goes away. flippin annoying.

does your noise go away after it has been warmed up?

Actually my noise only happened after getting the clutch warmed up - it would not happen when the car was cold. Mine seems to be related to breaking in the new clutch and flywheel. After about 3 days of the nasty noise happening intermittantly, it has gone away and I haven't heard it at all in the past week or two. I believe that it was caused by the friction plates lightly rubbing on the new flywheel surface when the clutch was disengaged. Now that we have a few hundred miles of around town driving, everything is broken in.
