Re: Diff Oil Recommendations?

I read the same thing. Castrol uses a modified dino base that they call synthetic. Mobil uses a truer engineered PAO synthetic, as does Amsoil and some others.

The funny part is that the Castrol costs half as much to make, but they didn't feel like passing that savings onto the consumer. Still costs as much as the Mobil.

Re: Diff Oil Recommendations?

Got around to changing mine the other day at about 8500 miles. There was a significant amount of metal on the magnet. I replaced the fluid with Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90. Runs great. I plan on changing it in about another 10k miles or so.

I just recently changed mine...one thing I was told was, if you have dif troubles and the dealer sees anything other than Nissan oil, they'll blame that and not cover it...good luck...whilw you're there, change your tranny fluid too....I did

Wanna see mine?

I had the dealer do my auto tranny fluid. Shifting seems to be a little smoother.

Castrol SAF-xj 75W140 isn´t too bad, also Shell 75W140 for LSD used for the M5´s etc with LSD´s.
In general the diff. on the g35 is a rather weak spot and for sport use the use of a cooler with a high capacity pump should be considered. After 10000miles of Nuerburgring racing our g35 diff is still in pristine condition.

Is that even legal? I think there are plenty of examples out there where the dealership/factory had to cover a repair because they couldn't prove that the upgraded fluid did the damage.
