abnormally high mpg for these cars?

I came from getting 46-47mpg reliably in my jetta tdi. My camaro I still have and i'm building an engine for gets 19mpg. I got 27mpg in the 2003 mm6 g35 today. It was all highway driving and I went ahead and filled up even though I still had more than a quarter tank, because I know I will have to do nearly the same drive tomorrow and I averaged 27mpg.

I just read where someone in a sedan averaged 16 or 18 or something like that, so is it weird to get an mpg over what it's rated at highway in theses cars? I only got 17 my first tank over the weekend, but I was playing with it the whole time and never really got on the highway to speak of. this was just a pure highway cruising.

I recently got 27 mpg on a whole tank on the highway as well, 07, 6mt, stock except for blizzak snow tires. Its possible, but those lower gears just kill mileage.

I got 28mpg on my last road trip 95% highway though. I usually average 23.5mpg with a mixed city/highway. Its all in how you drive.

^ lots of guys here like to live from stoplight to stoplight.

I've seen posted mpg's as low as 12-13 mpg. I used to hover at 18 mpg but now am nearer to 21 mpg. My record for a road trip was 24.5 mpg.

As said earlier it's all in how you drive and the mix of city/highway.

generally city driving gets me around 17.4 mpg. highway driving can get me 27-28 mpg if i drive 55-60 mph the whole way.

I am not gonna lie I drove the hell out of the car for the first weekend and even got on it hard getting on the highway today, but just seemed weird people were saying that low and I averaged that this time. I was expecting around 20mpg when I bought the car so I was pleasantly surprised.

I typically see 19 to 20 in combined driving. In 100% highway driving, I've seen as high as 29.8 though I usually see 25-26.

Last tank I got 14.8 MPG for 16.5 Gallons. I'm going to clean the JWT filter and see what happens on this tank.

wow. you must play a lot. I envy you having the ability to play like that. I lose money if i get mpg like that day in day out. I gotta get at least ok mpg. I am hoping to get 23mpg this tank though. It has been a combined tank. oh well. I wish I had the k&n cold air kit. I think it would help city, because the injen kit gets heat soak really really bad. I learned that with just a week of driving. Looking at the k&n kit, I think it would be much better in the city.

I reset the ECU the other day and I don't know if I'm crazy, but I may be getting slightly better MPG because I'm almost at 190 miles on the trip and I have a little left to hit the 1/4 tank mark. Usually I would be at like 150 miles at the 1/4 tank mark.
