Happened just once to me also - when at a driver skills session, driving the car hard in the heat. It's been about 3 years since and I haven't had any problems.

Replacing the slave cylinder seemed to fix it for me. Recently it had been happening a lot and not gotten any better after a full bleed. I put the new slave on a couple weeks ago and the problem has not come back. I still expect it to happen as often as it did when new, which was occasionally, not every time I drove in heavy traffic like it had been recently.

I just fixed the same problem. My clutch pedal wouldn't return when it got hot. After replacing the clutch fluid several times and bleeding the system the pedal still acted the same.

I ordered a $43 wagner clutch slave on amazon, put it in, bleed the system, everything is great now!

Very simple install. Took about 20 min. start to finish. Just make sure you have someone around to help bleed the system.

Good luck.

Clutch pedal only comes up 3/4 of the way

My clutch pedal is also not coming up fully sometimes. I don't think is the slave cylinder. I think the helper spring is engaging too high. It's a swivel type spring where the high of the rod must exceed a certain point before it starts applying a force to push up the pedal. Maybe I have too much friction in the pedal, lack of lubricant and the pedal is just stopping before the helper spring takes over.
The other idea is if the helper spring needs aligning/replacing. Or can the rod be adjusted so it is a hair higher for the spring to work.
Any ideas are welcomed

sticking pedal is usually caused by dirty fluid.... the engine heat boils our clutch fluid causing it to go brown very quickly... i changed mine less than 2 years ago and its do for a change again... it sucks having to do it so often... im gonna try to fab up something to keep heat out of that cubby... the RHD cover doesnt do it.. reflective duct tape might be in the works for me on that divider wall

So does flushing the clutch fluid usually solve the issue of a sticking clutch?

Has anyone tried flushing their fluid and installing a SS clutch line?

I have this issue and have flushed my system 3 times in the last 6 months...I also applied a heat resistant tape to the line and it still comes back. It is definitely heat related because I live in TX and I bought the car in January and didn't have an issue at first. I plan to change the slave cylinder first to see if that improves the problem.

I posted in another clutch thread that im experiencing the opposite thing. When I first start my engine and it's cold the clutch wont come up all the way. After I drive the car around for a while and it heats up then the clutch comes up. I've change the fluid out a few days ago and it was nasty but still experiencing the same issue

I had my fluid changed, but I don't think the guy did a very thorough job. The clutch felt much better the day after, but got worse again real quick (maybe some old fluid left in the system fouled the newer fluid).

I'm planning on giving it a real good flush with DOT 4, installing a SS line (possibly wrapped in heat tape), and likely replacing the slave cylinder because why not?

Also, anyone whose pedal is really sticking, I recommend removing the assist spring from the stock clutch pedal bracket. Or better yet, install the RJM bracket. Not having that spring allows my pedal to fully return when it wouldn't before, even if it does feel spongy while doing it.
