Due for ATF change yet?
Hi All,
I have a 2004 G35C. I finally reached 60000km after 9 years. I don't drive much and I checked my ATF is still in a pretty good condition (I think). No smell, still pinkish, good fluid level. I talked to the Nissan dealer, they said ATF color will dramatically change to black (or very dark) when they needed to be replaced. So should I replace my ATF immediately or I can still wait for another 15000km or 30000km?
The Nissian dealer told me the rear diff oil can be changed at 100,000km. Is it true?
Thanks,

I've got an 05 sedan, changed mine out when I bought it at 45k miles. You're a little short of that, but most transmissions require a change around your mileage anyways. I did the rear diff at the same time because its easy. Besides, I feel better about the Mobil 1 in there haha.
I would change it every 20-25K miles. Doesn't cost that much and will help it last sooo much longer.
Make sure you only use NISSAN FLUID in the automatic, anything else will mess it up

You are supposed to flush all of your fluids every 30,000 miles except when it comes to the AT trans you are just supposed to do a drain and fill. Me personally I have always done a complete flush.
Nissan Matic "J" fluid is rated for 60K. Waiting for the fluid to change from light red to black is not the best way to max life of transmission.
If your fluid is pinkish than a flush is safe and will allow fluid from Torque Converter to be replaced.
When transmission starts accumulating high mileage/wear than drain/refill is your better option.
You will likely end up with Nissan Matic "S" since "J" is no longer made. "S" fluid is a better grade and compatible with higher Mileage rating.

Thanks everyone for their valuable advices!! I gotta getting my lazy *** under my G and swap out those fluid!
BTW, changing rear diff old MUST performed when the car is completely level? I am not thinking doing it on a slope, but my driveway is a little slanted.
