grinding noise 1st gear

I've got a 04 coupe at and every time my g is cold and I slowly start accelerating right before shifting to second I hear a grinding noise and then it shifts around 2k rpm. It only happens when the car is cold and only one time, after the first time I can't reproduce it.

Do you think its the torque converter? Should I try to flush?

not an AT expert but it sounds like a fluid swap is in order if you already haven't done it.
