At 78k miles, the dealer just told me that I need a transmission and clutch replacement (Estimate $6k+). The car is a 2007 G35 6MT. I'm the original owner from 2007. It has been my daily driver, and it's had 2 track days. No accidents. No mods other than air intake. I've driven a manual since 1988.

A few questions:

1. Can someone refer me to a reliable independent shop in Phoenix for Infiniti service, and transmission/clutch service?
2. My mileage may vary, but does 78k sound too soon for transmission and clutch replacement?

Pit Stop Performance did a great job on my G. Also, Vitaly took the time to show me the parts that were replaced to explain the need for replacement. PSP will be my shop for all of my vehicles for a long time.

Here were PSP's prices compared to the dealer:

1. Clutch - D: $2,517, PSP: $1,175
2. Hoses - D: $319, PSP: $232
3. Tranny - D: $3,019 , PSP: $0, Tranny replacement unnecessary
4. R Shocks: D: 684, PSP: $310
5. Clean filter: D: $93, PSP: Free

Savings: $4,400.
