Car dies when clutch pedal is pushed down??

The title says it all. I push the clutch pedal down and the engine will die if I don't gas it right away. And even gassing it won't always keep it from shutting off. It isn't stalling, it just shuts off. What is happening?

How do you get the car started if it dies when the clutch is depressed?

Does the car get stuck in gear when you push the clutch down?
If so check your clutch fluid levels, that's a sign of potential clutch master cylinder failure.
Knock on wood its a simple fix like that, in the meantime just keep topping off the reservoir if the symptoms match what was described.
Also, do not force it into gear to get the car moving you'll damage your clutch.

does the engine die due to low RPM? I would clean the TB and maybe do the reset (would have to search for that thread) Have you pulled any codes? any idiot lights on when driving?

Does this sound like something that would happen if you're clutch was bad? I know my clutch needs replacement. Sometimes wen I push the clutch in then the car will just shut off right there. The only way I can get it to not die is by gaassing it a lot.
