This is my first forum post after just acquiring an 04 MT sedan. I love the car and have already dialed the suspension based on my research of this forum.

My issue is that my clutch pedal is feels much heavier when compared to my uncle's '03 350Z MT. Funny thing is that he feels like his clutch is going out b/c in neutral, he can hear the grinding. I hear no such noises and my mechanic who did a PPI for me mentioned that the clutch engages fine (this is odd b/c his Z only has 28K miles on it though and my G has 87K).

Do these clutches get heavier over time? Or if I there's a clutch spring or another part of the mechanism that can be causing this?

If it shifts, does not smell and does not make noise-you are OK. I was told that clutch does get heavier with wear.
Go with Exedy OEM as a replacement, unless you plan some serious power additions like FI.

 

Thanks SO much man! I see you're running Tanabe. Just had the Medalian system installed yesterday and the muffler and tail pipe sit WAY too low in the back of the car. Did you have the same issue?

Reaching out to Tanabe to solve the problem -- it scrapes both tip and muffler simply pulling into parking lots off streets. Not cool! But everything was mounted perfectly.

My exhaust scrapes as well on steep driveways-both muffler and resonator(with 2" suspension drop). Trying to negotiate them as sideways as I can

 

Good to know. ****ing kills me that I have this problem after buying what I thought was the best brand for the money. One day and It's already scrapped and practically dented up.
