Shut off mid drive. Lights are on now

Casually driving down the road and my car shut off on me mid drive. I turned off the car and starting it up now takes 5+ seconds and my Slip, VDC OFF, and service engine lights are all on and won't turn off. Anyone have this happen before? Any info would help! Driving an 03 g35 coupe 104k miles

Based on your car's age/mileage, your camshaft and/or crankshaft position sensors are probably going out. Replace all three.

Noticed any other issues lately?

Those are the big three that went out on mine at 95K. Consider it a 80K/ 7 year replacement.

Are they expensive parts to fix? I have a warranty on my car so would it be better to have my dealer look at it? And no other major issues besides little inconveniences have been noticed. Only thing I've had problems with was the gas tank which I since have had replaced

I have a Ford premium care warranty, but I see nothing about camshaft position sensor. Is it under a different fancier word?

Not especially. I believe the sensors can be had for $150-$200 and they're not particularly hard to install (it helps to jack up the side of the car to do the crankshaft sensor).

Definitely get it covered under warranty if you can.

EDIT: Looks like courtesyparts has each of the sensors listed at around $85 each.

The code was for the bank 1 cam sensor. Now do you think I would have to replace both the driver and passenger side? My dealer is far from me to where it would cost up to $300 to tow my car so if I could do it myself for cheap I'd rather do that

You should replace all three at once.

What's the third one? I know of the driver and passenger but haven't seen anything about a third sensor. Is it an decently easy fix?

^ yes, two camshaft sensors and 1 crankshaft sensor. not particularly hard to install as long as you're comfortable / familiar with your engine bay. also, as noted above, its easier to get to the crankshaft sensor if you jack up the driver side of your car (or at least use a service ramp).

No, I think just under sensors…My mechanic called and verified…B careful, extended warranties try to weasel their way out by checking for mods on the engine...
