The good ol p0300!!??? Misfire and does if let off throttle??

Hows it going fellow g35 owners soo ive owned the car a month and just been working on it piece by piece. Soo ill cut the story short and get right too it. I bought the car it had multiple codes but did not have the p0300 nor was it misfiring at le as t not on multiple cylinders and falling flat on its face shutting off after starting the car. So I was getting codes for the drivers side camshaft position sensor the crank angle sensor and knock sensor and I believe 2 for the AT one being because vdc was disconnected for the previous owner to do burnouts or whatever he was doing before I took the car away from him. Soo what ended up happening getting me to this point was the fact I replaced those 3 sensors non oem I did the ebay special believe I paid $20 for the 3 sensors cam and crank I have a 2003 DE 5AT. While replacing those sensors I took the 3 piece plenum off and go to the knock sensor found out a rat ate up the wire so went to the junk yard took the harness off a car in great condition for it being at the junk yard and I figured take a extra set of injectors too while I'm at it. Good thing cus at this point my injectors must have been pretty bad because when I put everything back together stsrted the csr after reseting the ecu only code was a p0300 and the csr would shut off if I let off throttle now at first I was like oh I disconnected the TB canr remember if battery was connected or not at the time. So I did or tried to do the relearn not 100% sure if it worked but no change did the maf relearn and checked if maf was good and it was soo those 2 scratched off the list I took the plenum back off replace the injectors cus it smelt heavy like fuel and when I took the old ones off o rings were missing and they looked clogged at the jets. Put everything back together again still no change only code after running it foot on throttle chilling about 2k rpm p0300 and nothing else. I have purchased some coil packs and replaced the spark plugs. When I replaced the plugs the old ones were soaked atleast at cylinder 6 and mayeba. Few others soo I know valve cover gaskets definitely need to be changed but ive never really had a miss that would cause the csr not to stay running even after 10 to 20 mins of being on throttle it just won't stay alive itll go down to 200 rpm and just die off within seconds. I read somewhere on here someone said possible clogged cat soo remove o2 sensors before the cat to see if it is but not gonna like its tight asf in there and im just waiting on my headers and coil packs hopefully one or the other solves the situation but I wanna see what yall think. Shitty crank sensor? Clogged cat? Bad ignition coils? Tb relearn? Let me know. Thanks for your opinions and yes im cheap asf on this car its an 03 and its gonna be ebay special its whole life with me 😁.

For the future, try to not replace a BUNCH of components at the same time. It's too hard to narrow down if there was an issue with one.

Using junk yard injectors without running them through an injector cleaning machine is a BAD idea, put the original ones back in.

Verify that you didn't mix up the coil pack harnesses, it's very easy to do.

Replace the cam and crank sensors with Hitachi or actual OEM Nissan ones (not the so-called OEM Genuine Nissan parts ones on eBay, they're fake). It's well documented that aftermarket sensors typically don't work correctly in these cars.

She is a little bit of a project and yea I probably should have did the sensors then cleared codes then checked how she ran then knock then injectors. The ones I put in are flow tested and work perfectly fine injector wise. Im going to wait untill my ignition coils get here and no the coils on the harness are the correct ones I know what you mean tho everything is plugged up correctly but the answer im looking for is why is the car shutting off? She will not stay running and like I said earlier ive had where 3 or more cylinders are missing and it would still stay running what do you think is causing the car to shut off i know if it was usually the camshaft or crank sensors it would have a hard time starting not running?

I should probably also mention that it sounds loud as **** almost like open header on the drivers side when it misses and thats the only place I hear it tbh

That sounds like a cam/crank sensor issue. If you have the old ones put them back in and see what it does.

Tried the old crank and cam angle sensors

Tried the old sensors still same like misfire and won't stay running but no cel I only ran the car for about 2 min on throttle. Car drove fine before but ill double check the coil pack harness new coils are supposed to arrive this evening when I get a chance possibly tomorrow ill try those and check harness same time. Hopefully have an update for you tomorrow. Also hoping she stays running 🤣🤣🤣😭

Changed coil packs still nothin

Changed the coil packs and checked the harness both cylinderc4 and 6 are in the correct location 6 with the being the middle connector and 4 being the closest to the firewall still same results so I have 2 culprits to check on now. Going to get a o2 sensor socket and pull the top o2s out in order to check if its a bad cat I got headers for both reason 1 being more loud murica!!! Bald eagles lol and 2 because if the cats are done ill have to get stsrted on that project but if it checks out good ill pull the injectors again have them retested and rebuild the 12 stock injectors I have now lol and also buy my 850cc injectors to run e85 once tuned thats next on my checklist. Updates will be soon.

Make sure you didn't pinch the oil fill neck between the plenum, it's easy to do and causes a massive vacuum leak.

I'll end up checking that out soon as I'm trying to find a place that cleans and rebuilds injectors near me. I see a few places around just waiting in pricing getting a upgraded fuel pump and 850cc injectors that im gonna use at like probably 60% just soo I can run e85 in the car 100% after the tune. I just wanna get the misfire fixed. It definitely is like she chokes but only when i let off throttle and it sounds like its missing on the drivers side exhaust mani. Headers already arrived just need to get my test pipes. Slowly but surely everything is coming along but i need her to run better then before soo i can tune the car 😭

I forgot to mention this I think

So I know cai usually make a whistling noise thats like normal but this does sound a little abnormal I wish I had a way to for you to hear it but the whistling when I rev the car to keep it alive basically to see if any other codes pop up atleast the last few times I tried it it just sounds like a supercharger if I could best explain it lmao like it doesn't sound like the normal whine of a intake ive heard in these cars its a injen intake as far as I know

G35 is getting injectors tested and cleaned!!

While my new injectors and pump are on the way im going to flow test and clean all 12 injectors first the set of 6 that look the best and then the next set of 6 other then that im going to check everything again when I pull the ones in the csr out and when I reinstall im going to make sure I triple check everything. But I moved the G today and while making a turn to reverse it in the drive way since I have to keep throttle on I have to throw in neutral to keep it alive by revving tho I dont want to I had to just move it into its correct parking space lol well the battery died on me while making that turn so I had to actually pull the battery out put the one I have in my Honda element out and in the g to park the car lmao its a good battery just dead I charged it up and I did a deep cell charge it just finished. I know ive heard bad battery performance can be a bitch for these cars so who knows I will scan again after putting that battery in and if I get nothing injectors are coming out. Any advice?

I pulled the injectors i installed from the junkyard and tho they were clean when I put them in they looked just as bad as my original injectors wish I had a pic of when I put them in but here's how they look now

And here's the old Injectors the originals im going to out back in i disconnected the 02 on the drivers side if the car runs fine ill just plug the o2 back in to see if it stays that way I'm also going to do all the factory resets. Update later.

Same damn **** !!! Will a few top plenum bolts missing cause that large of a vaccum ?

Finished installing my catch can lol but other then that progress is bad... put the old injectors bad in cleaned throttle body with battery terms disconnected had to replace negative anyways heres a pic

Definitely feel like I need some good advice now I know I'm missing a few bolts to the top plenum going around it not in the middle would that cause a big enough vacuum leak? Everything is tightened down.

I removed the 02 sensor on the drivers side cat but im still getting the misfire and the 02 sensor code thats all thats showing up heres a screen shot
