I bought this car with a leaking transmission output seal and changed it right away. For about 2 months no leaks but recently started leaking again! any idea what would cause the seal to fail again so soon?
May not have been installed squarely. Maybe you caught a lip as you installed the driveshaft. Could be a few different things. Fortunately that seal is incredibly easy to get to and replace. I would pull it out and take a look at it and see where it looks like it failed, and then make sure you correct any issues when you replace the new one.
When you take the driveshaft off make sure it feel absolutely 100% smooth to the touch where the seal sits. I've seen pitting on the metal cause premature seal failure on a lot of vehicles.
It's also FAR more common for someone to damage a brand new seal when reinstalling a driveshaft.
