Who knows transmissions?
I have a whining noise in the transmission when you start off in drive.As you accelerarate there is a whine throught each change of the gears,after it goes through each change,you don't hear it anymore.It is almost identical to a power steering that is low in fluid.This is an automatic transmission.I would appreciate anyones thoughts.

More info. How many miles on the car? Is this a new sound, or has it always been there? If so, is it louder than before? Is there any vibration? Are the shifts smooth? Has the fuel mileage changed?
If it is shifting well with no vibration/shudder or delay in engaging after putting in drive, I would say your fluid level is fine. All AT's whine a little. Almost surely no problem, but if its getting louder than before, take it into the dealer for a diagnostic. Its under warantee I assume, so there should be no charge for them to check it out.

Thanks,the car has only 2000 miles.I bought the car when it had 1600 miles and it was there then.It shifts smooth and there's no vibration.The sound has always been the same,no louder.the fluid level is ok.It's sound like a power power steering pump low in fluid.It's that kind of sound,but only through the gear changes and then it's quiet,but i have to say that i don;t believe that is a normal sound,it should shift smoothly ,which it does,but i don't believe the sound should be there.Could the rear differential be low in fluid.I doubt it ,but could that possibly be it .
If its only there during shifts, it wont be the diff. They dont whine, they growl when low on fluid and they dont last long like that. It would already be toast. I wouldnt worry about the sound at all, just make sure to mention it and have it documented during the 3750 mile service. That way if anything ever happens, they cant say you were negligent by operating it under a known F.U.B.A.R. condition.
Not saying it's not a problem with your transmission, but the whine from the fuel pump can be pretty loud, and sounds like what you're describing.
One way you might test this theory is to remove the rear seat (the bottom part only) and see if the noise is noticeably louder as you drive around. The fuel pump is located not far under the seat in the top of the tank, and its whine is much easier to hear with the seat out.

For the bottom part (the actual seat), only two clips (very strong clips) hold it on. Located about 16" from either end in the front. Just pull up real hard - I hit my back on the roof when it finally releases - that's how hard it is.
