VDC Off, Slip, Brake? Here we go again..

Hey I posted like a month or two ago about my car stalling out a lot for no reason, seems that has stopped on its own and dealership gives me the old routine "can not reproduce problem etc etc." So whatever that stopped, now within the last two weeks my car right when it is turned on I get the Brake Light, VDC Off, and the Slip light, and its on the whole time does not turn off and my tires like to SPIN like monsters when its wet out, not very safe. There is occasionally a time when this doesn't happen and I have a good day with the car, but winter is coming I need my VDC back got any suggestions since the dealership gives me the run around when theres a problem like this, and my chances are that the day I bring it in for service they can't get it to do it.

i had that problem with my 04. did you get a CEL when it happened? my CEL code said it was a bad throttle position sensor. i called my dealer and they knew EXACTLY what i was talking about and scheduled the repair right then. i'm surprised your dealer didn't schedule the repair immediately. that ish needs to be fixed yesterday!!!

I don't think I got a CEL? It might have flashed on and off but never stayed on.

That's happened to me several times. Almost got in a wreck one time because the VDC and Slip light just happened to turn on in the pouring rain. I added some brake fluid and the problem went away.

Just went through this with my car. Took it in twice before they determined what was wrong. They had to replace the ABS sensor. They weren't even positive that this would solve the issue but thus far those lights have stayed off completely. Now I did not have the stalling issue - only the lights you mentioned coming on. It is possible that you are in fact experiencing two different problems. Hope they are able to figure out something for you soon.

Probably the brakes...

Same thing happened to me just this last week. For me, it turned out to be worn front brake parts. The front pads were at the end of their useful life. (Shocked me since I had about 14K miles on this set. My first set lasted for about 26K) Since my rotors had been turned when the first set of replacement pads were installed, they had now worn below their minimum thickness spec. The combination of thin rotors and soon to be spent pads caused the VDC, SLIP and Brake lights to come on. You probably could add fluid but for all intensive purposes, you are probably looking at brakes soon...
