My dad completely messed up his engine. Infiniti wants 10k to swap out the longblock. If anyone has an extra 09 fx35 engine laying around that would be great . His current motor only has 45000 miles so id like to find something with around the same mileage if possible.

He didnt change his oil for 20,000 miles. Sludge built up in the engine, corrupted 2 coilpacks resulting in continuous misfires, and ruined the 2 of the oil seals. He blows white smoke out the exhaust everytime he accelerates and has to keep putting oil in the car if he drives for any extended period of time.

It might be a fixable issue, but infiniti just wants to swap the whole longblock. If we can find a local shop he might try to have it fixed. I would imagine dropping the oil pan and cleaning all the sludge out and runnning clean oil through everything a couple times should clean it out. Then it's just a matter of replacing any bad seals and replacing the coilpack. It's a leased car and he was supposed to turn it in in 3 months. He might have to buy it now
