Has anyone charged their own A/C?
it is very easy...
but the ra134. find the low side of the ac. i have an 04, it is located right above the passenger fenderwell.. the refill only can pluginto the lowside so no need to worry about that.. plug the can in, start your car and turn the a/c on the highest and coldest setting.. start to add the refill in by openeing up the refillcan. make sure you puncture the can first using the applied whatever thingy.. from there, there should be a gauge on the refill that you bought, indicating ambient temp and a psi.. just adjust the ambient temp to whatever it is wehre your at, and then it should give you a scale of what the psi should be between. from there just turn the can upside down to right side up. all of this info should be on the can itself. pretty simple.

if u have a leak your gonna have to charge it the same way but like bllod says, they have purple glow in the dark kind of ra134 or neon green so u can see where the leak is coming from
if you have a leak (hope not) then it is a bit more involved. after changing the line that is leaking you will have to purchase an A/C Vac. to vacuum the system and see if it holds pressure. (Compressor Required_around 110psi for 15-30minutes) you will need a pressure gauge set and a tank of Ra134. It is fun to re-pressurize any a/c system. Wish ya luck.

Ac systems are closed loops. If you are low on 134 you have a leak. They are not supposed to leak. Also new cars are starting to come out with the new Freon so be careful you dont mix them. 1 CFC molecule can kill 100000 ozone molecules so get your leak fixed. New stuff is better but still does harm.

Probably a good sign you have a leak as the compressor will not turn on if there isn't enough freon( or whatever the new stuff is called r22/r410)
