Motec is Australlian I believe. He is talking about Marcelli (sp?) ECU.

How do you like ur V-Pro, Gman? More importantly, what was your experience w/ SGP like?

I have nothing bad to say about SGP. When I bent a rod on my stock motor I shipped them the block for the rebuild. I had my shop re-install the built block and I took it to another shop to get tuned. That motor lasted about 2 months......fried 3 pistons. After that I shipped the entire car to SGP for a
another rebuild. After the car was completed I flew to Houston and drove the car home. At that time I had the EU. It was 40 degrees in Houston and when I got into Florida with 90 degee weather the car started running rich. I called Mark and he offered to fly out to retune the car. At that time I told him to bring the V-Pro with him cause I was done fuking with POS piggy backs.

I now have about 10K extremely hard miles on the car. Everytime I get in the car it's see 140mph plus. I don't baby it at all. Needless to say I am very please with the V-Pro. One thing I have learned is that your EMS and the tune is key to reliability and longevity of your motor. If you can afford a full standalone don't mess with piggys back. I will never ever skimp on my EMS again.

Will the IS and UTEC work with FI systems like the Vortech?

yes, but I wouldn't waste my money on a new EMS for the vortech. The SS box will do the job for that kind of power and it will be safe.

Of course the UTEC is user tuneable - no license required - unlike all the others, correct?

So any tuner (including yourself) that you trust can fix you up after that next mod...

GMAN, after your first rebuild, which pistons did you fry (stock, after market?) and did SGP isolate the cause?

HKS ECU wins hands down.. as long as you can find a tuner familiar with the software.. HKS has proven to be one of the best engine management systems with their F-Con.. so if the IS is anything like that but for us guys that do not need all the features then IS..

but then again.. F-Con, IS, UTec.. are all superior then Emanage Ultimate =\ lol

i think you are referring to the upcoming engine management system from Magnetti Marelli... Sharif at Forged Performance in GA is testing one out IIRC from reading a thread over on My350z
