Please help! Auto Motor on a Manual Car?

I recently blew my motor on my 03.5 sedan 6spd. I bought a replacement motor, but it came from an automatic. The guy I bought it from who has experience with selling motors for our cars said it would work on my 6spd. My mechanic got the motor and tried to mate it to my tranny and the crank wouldn't fit. I tried calling my local Infiniti dealer and they haven't got back to me.

Anyone know if it should work with a 6 speed. Someone else told me that I have to buy a couple of extra parts to make it work, but no one has been able to confirm that for me.

Thanks.

i would think that all you should have to do is install the pilot bushing in the block.all manual trans cars have this where as autos do not.your mechanic should know this.

Embarrased to say, but ran out of oil and the spun a rod bearing. At one point or another during the life of the car, i have run a supercharger, nitrous, and turbos (not at the same time). I was babying the car during that time in the last year, I had gone back to stock. Since I always used synthetic oil, i usually waited until 5000 or 7000 miles between oil changes (synth lets you get up to 25000 supposively). Well, the last time I change the oil, I waited almost 10,000 miles. I know from experience that the VQ35 eats oil. I normally topped it off every couple of thousand miles. This time I didn't. All in all, the car ate all of the oil and it eventually blew. The engine is super solid, this was a case of stupid user error.

And no, I don't think all the mods contributed to the engine blowing. When my engine started making sounds, I had absolutely 0 oil in the car.

So now I am fighting with the getting this new engine in. Good news though, the dealer talked me into getting a M45 while my G was in the shop getting looked at.

By the way, the M45 is a great car, but the steering is pretty numb/light, and not sure I am ready for an automatic so I trading it in.

It will work. I put a 6spd. motor on my auto Z. Did the swap myself. Don't know how it wouldn't fit. Did they take the flexplate/flywheel off? It's different from auto/6spd.

this is a little off topic but in the same category. I just bought a VQ engine/transmission that belongs to a six speed. I own an auto, I bought the engine to mod and put in my car later, would there be any fitment problems?
